1. Introduction

SelectiveHQ (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides free and paid online tools to help students prepare for Victorian Selective Entry High School exams. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and how we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

By using SelectiveHQ, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture URL.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, practice activity, progress, and similar analytics about how you use the platform.
  • Payment information. If you purchase coins or a subscription, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details; we retain only a Stripe customer/transaction reference and a record of your purchase.
  • Device and log data. IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically through cookies and analytics.

3. Children's privacy

SelectiveHQ is designed to support students preparing for selective entry exams, many of whom are children. We encourage a parent or guardian to create and manage the account and to supervise its use. If you are under 18, you should only use SelectiveHQ with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold personal information about your child that you would like reviewed or deleted, please contact us using the details below and we will action your request.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time.
